On-Demand Provisioning of Ethernet Services over Multiple Network Domains by Using OIF UNI/E-NNI Inter-Domain Interfaces

In the VIOLA testbed, but also in a joint activity with the EU MUPBED project, experimental evaluations were performed regarding signalled, on-demand Ethernet services over SDH, spanning multiple network domains. To enable this seamless inter-domain interworking OIF (Optical Internetworking Forum) interfaces, e.g., UNI 2.0 Ethernet (User Network Interface) and E-NNI (External Network-Network-Interfaces) were used. The presentation will describe the test network environment and the results of the tests. This will include the identification of interoperability issues and the description of tools for fault isolation and management.
